How do I play?
Rungs is a word ladder. You start at the top word and finish at the bottom word, filling in every blank rung between them. Each rung has to be a real word that changes the word above it by exactly one letter. Tap a blank cell and type your guess on the app's own keyboard; when a rung is correct it locks into place and you climb to the next one.
What if I get stuck?
Every rung has a clue — tap it for a short, crossword-style definition that nudges you toward the answer without spelling it out. Need more, tap Hint to reveal one correct letter. You can also use Clear or backspace to fix a rung. Solve a ladder with no hints and no mistakes for a flawless three stars.
Which languages are supported?
Rungs is fully playable in English, Türkçe, and Deutsch. The puzzles, the clues, and the menus are all in the language you pick — the clues are written in that language, not translated. Switch languages any time from the flag button on the home screen; each language keeps its own separate progress.
What are the daily challenge and the campaign?
The Daily is one fresh ladder that's the same for every player each day — solve it to build your daily streak. The Campaign is a 1,000-level climb that starts gently and ramps up, with your place saved per language. There's also an Endless mode in three sizes — Easy, Medium, and Hard.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no account, no login, and no sign-up. Your progress simply lives on your device.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Rungs plays fully offline — no internet connection is required to solve puzzles. A connection is only used to load ads and product analytics.
What about ads and my data?
Rungs is free and supported by occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads, served through Google AdMob, plus Google Analytics to understand how the game is played. There's no account, and your progress stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for the full details, including how to manage ad tracking and consent on iOS.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings in the app and choose Reset Progress. This clears your campaign, dailies, streaks, and bests on the device. Deleting the app also removes everything.
